NEW FREEDOM PROGRAM |
|
The New Freedom Program is a new program authorized by the Safe Accountable Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act, a Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) to support new public transportation services and public transportation alternatives beyond those required by the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. The New Freedom Program grew out of the New Freedom Initiative of 2001. Individuals who are transportation-disadvantaged face different challenges in accessing services depending on whether they live in urban, rural or suburban areas. The New Freedom Program through SEN-HAN Transit provides safe, affordable, efficient transportation service for Camden County residents with disabilities to competitive work sites and employment support services in the county. Transportation is available in the early morning, day and evening hours, Monday through Friday, as well as on the weekend. A Zone Fare System is in place for the program.
