October 24—Friday Leave the Lions Head Plaza in Somerdale for your trip to Massachusetts. Take time for lunch (on your own) in Hartford, CT. Arrive at the Fairfield Inn in Woburn, your hotel for the next two nights. Take the Boston Ghost and Graveyard tour and hear stories of the city’s gravest moments, its most ghoulish individuals, Boston’s burying grounds and all things shadowy and sinister presented with a dose of good humor! Dinner tonight in Boston is included.
October 25—Saturday After a Continental breakfast you will depart for Cape Ann on the North Shore of Boston to meet your local guide and discover the bewitching city of Salem. See mansions dotting the coastline, visit the “whispering beach” and hear about the witch hysteria that overtook Salem in the 17th Century. Lunch is included at the Gloucester House Restaurant. Visit the Salem Maritime Historic Site to tour the historic Customs House and the 18th Century sailing vessel, The Friendship. Then it’s on to the Salem Witch Museum to experience the frenzy that overtook this New England coastal community, learn about the witch trials and decide for yourself if they were truly guilty! See the bewitching village of Salem which comes alive during this annual event with festivities including haunted houses, terror on the wharf, psychic readers, music, entertainers, shopping, eateries, museums and more. Dinner tonight is on your own.
October 26—Sunday After breakfast at the hotel you will stop at the historic Lexington Green where the Red Coats began their advance starting the Revolutionary War. Then visit the Lizzie Borden House in Falls River for a tour and a chance to relive the time of the 1892 murders of the Borden family as you tour through this Victorian home turned B&B. Then it’s on to olde Mystic Village for lunch (on your own) and time to visit the many shops in the area before continuing home.
