September 30—Tuesday

Travel to Saratoga Springs and have lunch (on your own) with time to shop the many boutique stores in the area before continuing on to check into your hotel (Deluxe Econo Lodge) and enjoy a Welcome Reception and orientation.  Dinner this evening will be at Sweet Basil in Queensbury, a local favorite with a special feature of Prime Rib, before returning to the hotel at 8:15 pm. 

 

October 1—Wednesday

Enjoy a full American breakfast from 7:00-8:30 am at Tamarack Inn in Lake George before departing at 8:30 am.  At 10:30 you will begin your tour of Lake Placid for a scenic tour of Adirondack Park, the largest in the US.  Then it’s on to the Olympic Ski Jump Complex for a tour which includes an elevator ride to the 120-meter ski jump with spectacular views where you can learn about the training of future Olympians.  Before lunch (included) there will be a mystery stop!  After lunch at the Hilton, enjoy shopping in the village. Then you’ll tour Lake Mirror and Lake Placid to learn about “the lady in the lake”.  Afterwards you’ll see the 1932 and 1980 Olympic Arenas to see where the US won the gold over Russia and Finland, where Eric Heiden won 5 gold medals for speed skating, and much more before returning to the hotel at 5:00 pm!  At 6:00 you’ll leave for dinner at Georgia Resort featuring “Laura Roth’s Stars of the Hit Parade”, called a “show stopper” by the NY Post.  You’ll return to hotel at 10:15 pm.

 

October 2—Thursday

Enjoy a full American breakfast from 7:00-8:30 am at Tamarack Inn—be sure your luggage is out by 8:30 am.  Leave at 9:00 am to see the “Meeting of the Fathers” from “Last of the Mohicans” fame in Queensbury Hotel lobby.  Then it’s on to Cooper’s Cave Observation Point in Glen Falls with a brand new view of the cave from James Fenimore Cooper’s book.  Then tour the Prospect Mt. Scenic Highway and Overlook with a 100-mile view seeing four states.   At 12:00 pm you will take a luncheon cruise on Lake George aboard the 1,200-passenger four deck  SS Lac Du Sainte Sacrement with hot and cold buffet and dancing in the dining room with magnificent views of Lake George. After returning to port you will leave for home with rest breaks and a dinner stop made en route (on your own) before arriving at approximately 9:00 pm.
