Reverse Mortgage (HECM) Counseling
A Home Equity Conversion Mortgage or Reverse Mortgage is a special type of mortgage for people over the age of 62 who own their own home and have substantial equity. The home must be a single-family dwelling or HUD-approved condominium and must be the primary residence of the applicant.
This type of mortgage provides seniors with a line of credit or a monthly income based on the amount of equity in their home. The mortgage balance must be repaid when the last lender leaves the home. A counseling session is required for anyone applying for a reverse mortgage. Family members are encouraged to attend the counseling session.
Shared Housing
Our Shared Housing Program can provide seniors or those permanently disabled who live in Camden County with information on housing to fit their individual needs. Through strong working relationships with local apartment complexes and subsidized housing projects, SCUCS can assist in locating housing, which decreases housing costs or affordable housing that is lower in cost than regular market priced housing.

State Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) is open to any Burlington County Medicare eligible resident. Our SHIP counselors are trained and certified Medicare experts that provide one-on-one counseling to assist applicants though the Medicare enrollment process, understanding the costs and coverages, and helping to correct billing issues.
